According to journalist Dean Jones, Tottenham Hotspur will continue to use Heung-min Son as a striker this season. As a result, Richarlison is going to have to work harder to win back his place in the team.
For the first three games of the season, Tottenham opted to play Richarlison as the central striker in a three-pronged attack. Heung-min Son played out on the left wing, but neither player was able to make much of an impact.
Richarlison also started the Carabao Cup game against Fulham last week and managed to get himself on the scoresheet. However, the Brazilian picked up a knock in that match.
Spurs captain Son was chosen to lead the line against Burnley last weekend in the centre forward role, and was able to put the Clarets to the sword with a fine hattrick.
Since the departure of Harry Kane last month, Ange Postecoglou has faced something of a dilemma in how to replace the striker. Now, he may face a much more interesting decision, with two players scoring goals and competing for the same spot.

Heung-min Son to continue as a Spurs striker?
Speaking to GiveMeSport about the predicament, Dean Jones claimed he has been told Son will be played as a striker, which could make life difficult for Richarlison.
He said: “Richarlison has to use a moment like this as motivation because he must prove that he can score goals regularly. When Kane left the club, I spoke to someone close to the decisions made at Tottenham and asked what the situation would be. Is it Richarlison or bust?
“The message was that the other person who will play as the nine is Son, and that will continue throughout the season. Now Son’s gone in there and scored a hat-trick.”

There is no way you can push Sonny back into the winger role after his display against Burnley, and so Richarlison is just going to have to make an impact elsewhere. It’s a shame, as he had just got a goal finally, but you can’t argue with a hat-trick.
