Dean Jones has said that Richarlison might be better off leaving Tottenham Hotspur and trying his luck elsewhere if things do not click for him on the pitch soon.

Richarlison led the line excellently for Ange Postecoglou’s men during pre-season, which raised the hopes of Spurs fans that he could perhaps be capable of filling Harry Kane’s shoes.

However, the Brazilian has had a difficult start to the season, having failed to find the back of the net yet in the Premier League so far, and his struggles continued into the international break as he failed to score for the Selecao in their two games against Bolivia and Peru.

In an interview with Globo Esporte earlier this week, the 26-year-old opened up on his struggles, admitting that he has also gone through a difficult time in his personal life recently.

The forward revealed that he plans to seek ‘psychological help’ on his return to London and insisted that he remains determined to turn things around at Tottenham.

Could Richarlison leave Spurs in the next 12 months?

Jones believes that Richarlison could do with a fresh start away from N17 if he is not able to turn things around.

The journalist told Ranks FC Ultras Podcast: “Richarlison obviously ended up missing another great chance. Life isn’t getting much better for him. I honestly think that Richarlison might end up having to find something new, either in January or at the end of the season.

“If the Tottenham thing doesn’t turn around soon, try a new team, because this isn’t going well for Richarlison right now since leaving Everton so that needs to change.”

I do not think Spurs would be thinking about moving Richarlison on, with Ange being quite clear that he values the Brazilian.

However, I do fear that the forward might struggle to get starts over the next month or two on the back of Son’s impressive showing against Burnley, which might dent the former Everton star’s confidence even more.
