Sky Sports claim that Tottenham have explored using Eric Dier as a part of a deal to sign Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham.
At the start of this week, RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins revealed that despite Adarabioyo being keen on moving to Monaco, Fulham are pushing the centre-back to choose Tottenham over the Ligue 1 side as Cottagers boss Marco Silva wants to sign Dier as part of the operation.
On Thursday, Foot Mercato even suggested that Monaco are ready to give up on their pursuit of the 25-year-old and turn their attention to other centre-backs as the operation is proving quite ‘complex’.
Dier has not been included in the match day squad for any of Tottenham’s three opening Premier League fixtures under new head coach Ange Postecoglou.
Part-exchange deal is on the cards for Eric Dier
Sky Sports have now claimed that a potential switch to Tottenham remains on the cards for Adarabioyo, with the North London club continuing to be ‘keen’ on the Fulham man.
The publication confirms that the West London club have already made an inquiry regarding Dier, with the club seeing the 29-year-old a ‘option’ ahead of the transfer deadline.
The report adds that while Monaco have pushed ‘the hardest’ for Adarabioyo, a part-exchange deal involving Dier ‘has been explored’ by Tottenham.
Spurs Web Opinion
I am sceptical about whether this part-exchange deal is realistic as there does not seem to be any willingness from the side of either player to green-light the transfer.
Dier seemingly wants to stay at Spurs and fight for his place while Adarabioyo does not appear too keen on a switch to the Lilywhites, perhaps due to fears of limited game time.
