The Daily Mail have reported that Fulham are now interested in signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg before the summer transfer window slams shut.
Marco Silva reportedly wants to add more experience to his side over at Craven Cottage, and the Londoners are already in contact with Tottenham about a possible move.
Fulham are looking to steal a march on Hojbjerg race
It is said that Hojbjerg remains likely to leave N17 in the next 24-48 hours, with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid having show interest – but Fulham can now be added to that list.
It was reported earlier today that Atletico had revived their interest in Hojbjerg and were looking at taking him on loan with an obligation to buy him for £40m next summer (DailyMail).
However, Fulham are said to be willing to pay to sign the midfield permanently this summer, rather than making Spurs wait for the fee.
It remains to be seen whether Fulham can agree a fee for Spurs, if Hojbjerg would be open to the move, and if Daniel Levy can find Ange Postecoglou a suitable replacement in time.
Spurs Web Opinion:
The perfect deals for Tottenham would be Hojbjerg out and Conor Gallagher in for similar kinds of fees, but I think both may be difficult to complete within the next 24 hours. Postecoglou has already shown that he is happy to use Hojbjerg as a rotation player if needed.
