Italian news outlet Il Romanista have claimed that AS Roma are keeping a close eye on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s situation at Tottenham Hotspur.
Over the past week, multiple Italian publications have reported that Juventus are eyeing a January move for Hojbjerg, with the Old Lady said to consider the Tottenham man as a good fit for the profile they are looking to bolster their midfield with when the window opens CalcioMercato).
Sport Mediaset suggested earlier this week that Juve are expected to face competition from Atletico Madrid for the Dane with the La Liga side likely to reignite their interest in the midfielder after failing to sign him during the summer.
Hojbjerg had to settle for a place on the bench once again in yesterday’s 2-1 win over Liverpool, coming on as a last replacement.
Roma interested in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg
If Il Romanista’s latest update is to be believed, the Bianconeri could also face competition for the former Southampton and Bayern Munich player from Serie A rivals, Roma.
The report claims that the Giallorossi are ‘on alert’ about the 28-year-old, with Jose Mourinho said to admire the player ‘a lot’.
The outlet points out that Hojbjerg had the best season of his career under Mourinho and suggests that the Portuguese coach is keen on returning with him at the Stadio Olimpico.

This does not come as a surprise to me but we have to wait and see if Jose is still in charge at Roma until January, given that the Serie A side are now just above the drop zone. Even if the Giallorossi stick with Jose, it remains to be seen if Hojbjerg would want to join them over Juve or Atletico.
