The print edition of Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by Sport Witness) have claimed that Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s representatives are expected to fly to Italy to meet with the Juventus hierarchy to discuss a January transfer.
Over the past week, multiple Italian outlets have suggested that Juve are eyeing a January move for Hojbjerg, who is seen as the right fit for the profile of midfielder that the Serie A giants are allegedly after (CalcioMercato).
However, it has emerged over the last couple of days that the Old Lady are expected to face competition from Atletico Madrid (Sport Mediaset) and Napoli (TMW) for the Tottenham man.
Talks with Juventus expected for Hojbjerg
Corriere dello Sport have now become the latest outlet to talk about Juve’s interest in Hojbjerg, stating that the midfielder wants to join a club where he can get more minutes.
The report claims that a move to the Allianz Stadium would be ‘more than a welcome solution’ for the 28-year-old, with the Bianconeri said to be ‘keen’ on signing the player.
In fact, it is alleged that intermediaries are already working to find a possible solution and that the Dane’s entourage are expected to travel to Turin to meet Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli.
Finally, the publication adds that while the Serie A giants want to sign Hojbjerg on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, Tottenham want a straight sale for €30m (£26m).
Spurs Web Opinion
Given that Hojbjerg will only have 18 months left on his contract in January, Tottenham are unlikely to entertain any loan offers. The club would be hoping that a bidding war ensues between the likes of Juventus, Atletico and Napoli for the 28-year-old.
