Aaron Lennon’s hopes of playing again this season are currently looking slim, after Harry Redknapp revealed he is unsure when the midfielder will return.

Lennon hasn’t played in 2010 after picking up a groin injury against West Ham, having suffered a number of set-backs in his recovery.

This will come as a major blow to Spurs in their run-in to the season, as they chase a fourth-place finish as well as FA Cup glory.

The news will also be of worry to Fabio Capello, with Lennon previously looking a certainty to start on the right of his England midfield.

Reports revealed the winger is yet to resume running at all and Redknapp is unconvinced that Lennon will appear again before the season’s conclusion.

The Spurs boss said, “I could not sit here and say for sure if he will play again this season.

“There is absolutely no comeback date at all.”
