Harry Kane has proven in recent seasons that he is more than a goalscorer with his passing ability coming to the fore.
The striker started to drop deep and prove himself also to be a creator during Jose Mourinho’s time in charge at Tottenham, which saw him scoop the Premier League Playmaker Award in 2020/21 after recording 14 assists, to go with his Golden Boot.
Kane also caught the eye with his impressive performance at Manchester City last season which saw former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher wax lyrical over his passing (Sky Sports).
West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice has also hailed Kane’s ability, describing him as probably the best in the world at present for being able to split a defence with a pass over the top.
Rice was asked by the England Football’s website about which trait he would like to take from one of his of one of his England teammates’ game and picked Kane.
He said: “Harry Kane’s passing. Oh my God, it is incredible. You can see in the Premier League what he’s been doing during the last couple of seasons and this season. I feel like when he drops in the midfielder position and plays the balls over the top and in between the lines, he is probably the best in the world at doing that at the minute.”

Kane has proven time and time again that he is a complete number nine, but still gets his critics. Tottenham fans have witnessed his remarkable passing ability for some time and he is now showcasing it on the world stage with England.
There can be a heavy reliance at club level for Kane to pull the strings and hopefully Fabio Paritici is working on bringing in a creative influence next month to help lift the burden on the England captain.
