Sebastien Bassong is looking for Tottenham to put Saturday’s defeat to Manchester United behind them.

The 3-1 defeat at White Hart Lane was Tottenham’s first in the Premier League this season and face the tough prospect of facing Chelsea on Sunday.

“It’s hard to lose the first game of the season but we have to think about the next one,” Bassong told the official Spurs site. “This game has gone and we have to look ahead.

“We started well, scored early and then kept going, kept playing, kept passing but we had a good team against us and made a few mistakes. That’s football.

“We have to learn from our mistakes and move on quickly.

“We have to show a good reaction at Stamford Bridge, we have a good squad, a good spirit and that’s what we intend to do.”
