Football London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Tottenham are ‘confident’ of completing a deal for Destiny Udogie ‘in the coming days’.
Spurs will reportedly pay £22m in total, which includes add-ons, for the 19-year-old, and he will be loaned back to Udinese for the 2022/23 campaign.
Gold has revealed that Paratici and Conte both believe Udogie will be ready to play in the Premier League next season, and he is expected to make his debut for Italy in the near future.
The report also highlighted that the two left-backs or left-wing-backs with the highest goal contributions in the Serie A last season were none other than Ivan Perisic and Udogie.
By the time the teenager joins the North London squad, Perisic will be 34 and Sessegnon will be 23, with the Englishman showing great signs of improvement in the last six months, capped off by a goal against Southampton this weekend.
Spurs Web Opinion:
My favourite thing about the Udogie deal is that it feels like a signing for the future and a signing for Conte, perhaps hinting that he expects to be at Tottenham for a few years yet.
