Udinese director Pierpaolo Marino has admitted that the club have received ‘an important offer’ for rumoured Tottenham target Destiny Udogie and are negotiating the sale of the left-back.
Reports over recent days have indicated that Udogie is set to be the seventh player to arrive through the door at Hotspur Way this summer.
The Evening Standard claimed on Monday that the youngster is expected to join in a deal worth around £21m before spending the season back on loan at the Serie A club.
Fabrizio Romano has already given his ‘here we go’ seal of approval to the transfer yesterday.
According to Alasdair Gold (YouTube channel), the 19-year-old wing-back, who notched up eight goal contributions in the Serie A last season (Transfermarkt), is seen by Spurs as a potential successor to Ivan Perisic a year or two down the line.
Marino has now admitted that the Serie A club are negotiating Udogie’s sale but he refused to divulge too much information about the deal.
When asked about the speculation linking the left-back with a move to Tottenham, the Udinese director told TuttoMercatoWeb: “There is a negotiation underway. But talking about it when there are still no formalities is very complicated.
“It’s nice that there is an important offer for Udogie. But Udinese only sells their players for the right amount and tends to keep them for two years. We will try not to deny these parameters.”

Udogie’s signing has clearly been done with an eye toward the future. The 19-year-old’s signing has reportedly been driven by Conte (according to The Evening Standard) and might be the biggest sign yet that the Italian is looking to build a long-term project at Tottenham.
