Tottenham, Juventus and West Ham are all in the race to sign Udinese defender Destiny Udogie, according to Football Italia.
Udogie, 19, has emerged as one of Serie A’s top prospects after putting together a promising breakthrough campaign with Udinese.
He tallied five goals and three assists in 34 appearances last season (Transfermarkt) as the Friulani ended their campaign 12th in the league table.
Italian journalist Gianluca di Marzio recently revealed that Spurs were interested in signing the Italy youth international but had not yet made an offer for the left wing-back, who is also on Inter Milan’s radar.
But a fresh report from Football Italia has claimed Udogie is being pursued by a handful of clubs with Spurs, West Ham and Juventus keen on sealing a deal, knowing Udinese have valued their asset at €20 million (£17m).
All three clubs are in the race after Udogie’s agent Stefano Antonelli met with Inter chiefs this week (Sky Sports Italia), although the Nerazzurri also have their eye on Cagliari’s Raoul Bellanova.
Corriere dello Sport (15/06/22 as relayed by Sport Witness) also reported that Spurs, Juventus, and Inter Milan were interested, while Gianluca Di Marzio was the first to report on Tottenham’s interest last week.
Spurs Web Opinion
Udogie is a hot prospect after having a very productive breakthrough season and he would definitely fit the bill at Spurs. The price tag for a player that has the potential to develop is pretty tempting too, so it could be a move Spurs pursue throughout the transfer window.
