Destiny Udogie has not been included in Udinese’s squad for their first match of the new season this evening, amidst claims Spurs are close to signing the teenager.
Calcio Mercato reported earlier this week that Spurs had come to a verbal agreement with the Serie A side over the young left-back.
Spurs had been in contact with Udinese over the 19-year-old on and off for over a month, while the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, Lazio, Man City and Brighton were also keen.
Despite the number of suitors, Udogie himself gave the thumbs up to Tottenham’s offer, with the North London club’s Italian links in Conte and Paratici playing a part.
Calcio Mercato and Gianluca Di Marzio both reported the fee to be in the region of £20.9m, with Udinese taking the left-back on loan for the 2022/23 season.
And while Spurs would not be welcoming Udogie into the squad this summer, he has been left out of the Udinese XI for the time being.

Spurs Web Opinion:
I assume that Udogie is busy with medical and contractual stuff at the moment, not to mention his head would not be 100% on this evening’s match. Whatever the case, this is a strong indication that Spurs are set to sign him.
