Tottenham Hotspur are intending to complete the signing of Udinese defender Destiny Udogie next week, Fabrizio Romano has revealed on Twitter.
The Italian transfer expect claimed further talks between Tottenham and Udinese are planned to take place in order to finalise the agreement ahead of the Italy Under-21 international making the move to north London.
Udogie was not part of the Serie A club’s squad on Friday ahead of their match against Valencia as a result of the ongoing talks which will see him remain at Udinese on loan for the season ahead.
The 19-year-old came through the Hellas Verona academy before Udinese signed him last summer on loan with an obligation to buy for £3.6million (transfermarkt).
Tottenham have already told Sergio Reguilon that he can leave this summer with Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon competing for the starting left-wing back berth in Antonio Conte’s side.

Udogie is certainly a signing for the future in a similar manner as to what Tottenham did when they bought Pape Matar Sarr last summer and immediately loaned him back to Metz for a season to allow him to continue to play regular first-team football.
The teenager is a wing-back with plenty of desire and ability to influence matters in the attacking third of the pitch, which fits in with Antonio Conte’s expectation from his wide men.
