Destiny Udogie has been speaking to the press about his integration into the Tottenham Hotspur squad, and had positive things to say about the connection he has forged with Heung-min Son in his early days at the club.
Having signed for Spurs last summer, Udogie remained with his former club, Udinese, for the 2022/23 campaign. The youngster registered three goals and four assists across 34 appearances for the Italian side last term (Transfermarkt).
Udogie is now back in North London, and has made a great impression on the Tottenham fans already in such a short space of time.
The adventurous left-back has performed well in pre-season, and even bagged a goal in the first game of the schedule, against West Ham.
Whether Ange Postecoglou will give Udogie the nod to start the first Premier League game of the new campaign remains to be seen, but the Australian has certainly put his faith in the 20-year-old thus far.
Similarly, Udogie was full of praise for his new manager’s methods in a recent chat with Football.London.
Destiny Udogie likes playing with Heung-min Son
Now, Udogie has been singing the praises of one of his teammates, Heung-min Son, while discussing their partnership down the left-hand side of the pitch in an interview with SPURSPLAY.
When asked about the way the two players have been interchanging positions during pre-season games, Udogie said: “Yeah, sure – it’s what the coach asks us to do. When Sonny is up on the line, I have to stay inside. When he’s inside, I have to stay outside. It’s good, we understand each other very well.”
Spurs Web Opinion
Destiny Udogie has looked great in pre-season, and I would be very surprised if he wasn’t given ample game time this year.
With his style of play, there is a very good chance he will be a success in England, too, and if he can strike a dangerous partnership with Sonny down the left, all the better.
