A column in Messaggero Veneto (as translated by Sport Witness) has pointed to Destiny Udogie’s departure as one of the main reasons behind Udinese’s struggles this season.
Udogie has had an excellent start to his Tottenham career and just six games into his time at the club, he has already become a fan favourite.
The 20-year-old has shown maturity beyond his years and has quickly silenced those who doubted whether he would be able to adapt to the inverted full-back role, having looked quite comfortable in Ange Postecolgou’s system.
Udinese are struggling without Destiny Udogie
Udinese are certainly not coping well without the youngster, with the Serie A side going winless in their first four games of the season, sitting in 16th place in the table before the start of the weekend.
Messaggero Veneto have pointed the finger at Udogie’s departure as one of the primary reasons for the side’s decline.
The report states that the Tottenham man’s ‘outbursts’ on the left flank are ‘terribly missed’ by Andrea Sottil’s side.
The outlet points out that Udogie has excelled for Spurs this season and suggests that Udinese have struggled to find an ‘ideal’ replacement for the Italy Under-21 international.

Out of all the impressive deals that Paratici did during his time at Tottenham, the Udogie transfer arguably ranks at the very top when one considers the price we got the 20-year-old for. The former Udinese man has a very high ceiling and could develop into one of the best in the world in his position.
