Mark Lawrenson has predicted a comfortable home win for Tottenham this weekend, despite Bournemouth’s impressive form of late.

Manchester United and Newcastle United’s recent form has meant that Spurs have dropped down to fifth place in the table, with the Lilywhites sitting three points behind the Magpies and the Red Devils, having played a game more.

That means that the clash today is essentially a must-win game for Cristian Stellini’s men if they are to keep their Champions League qualification hopes alive.

The Cherries have picked up three wins from their last five and look as though they could beat relegation this season, particularly if they pick up three points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

However, Lawrenson believes that Spurs will turn up this week and backed them to overpower Bournemouth on the day.

The pundit told Paddy Power: “I fancy a bit Spursy home win.

“Last week was ridiculous but their two main men scored, Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.

“Bournemouth had a really, really good result last time out but I don’t see them doing that at Tottenham.”

Spurs Web Opinion

All things considered, our home form has been decent over the last month and a half but Tottenham have been known to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory recently, especially when given the chance to make up ground in the top-four race.
