Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen has given his backing for Tim Sherwood.
The Dane admits that it is ‘glad’ that Sherwood was given the opportunity to take over the managerial role from AVB. One of Sherwood’s first decisions as Spurs boss was to recall Eriksen back as one of the first names on his team sheet.
“I was glad because he put my name on the team-sheet right away,” Eriksen told The Sun Sunday.
“I enjoy working with him and you can see he’s a big Spurs man.
“First you’re at a new club and then suddenly after a couple of months you’ve got a new coach. That is difficult for people but I haven’t had any problems.”
Eriksen was also asked about his former Ajax boss Frank de Boer, who has also been linked with a possible move to White Hart Lane in the summer – should Daniel Levy decide to make another managerial change.
He added: “On a professional level, De Boer is the coach who has had the biggest influence on me.
“He understood me very well. He gave me the responsibility to play my own game, to get involved, to get the ball and show my talent.
“I only had good years with him so I don’t have anything bad to say.”
