Arsenal are currently investigating allegations that some of their fans engaged in anti-Semitic behaviour during the match against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.

While the game ended 2-0 to Spurs courtesy of goals from Son Heung-Min and Dele Alli, there were some unsavoury incidents during the game including one which saw an Arsenal fan hurl a projectile at Dele Alli.

It has also been alleged that some Arsenal fans made anti-semitic gestures, including a ‘hissing’ sound to mimic the gas chambers used during the Holocaust.

Arsenal have confirmed that they are investigating the incident and have released a statement on their official site, saying: “We are aware and are currently investigating. We do not tolerate any anti-social, discriminatory or violent behaviour at Arsenal Football Club. Anyone identified will receive a lengthy club ban and their details will be passed to the police to commence legal proceedings.”

This incident comes just days after Chelsea fans were accused of anti-semitic chants in Budapest during their game against MOL Vidi.

The incident is being investigated by UEFA at present. The last meeting between Arsenal and Spurs two and a half years ago also witnessed yet another ugly incident as a Spurs fan threw a banana skin at Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The fan in question has been identified and handed a lengthy ban.
