According to CalcioMercato, Tottenham Hotspur have made a ‘monstrous’ final take-it-or-leave-it offer to Atalanta for Cristian Romero.
Multiple sources over the last few days have revealed that there is still a significant difference between Atalanta and Tottenham’s valuations of Romero.
The Guardian claimed on Tuesday that Atlanta were demanding £47m for the 23-year-old, a fee that Tottenham were not willing to pay.
The report added that the North Londoners could instead turn their attention to their other centre-back targets like Fiorentina’s Milenkovic, Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma and Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.
Additionally, Barcelona have also allegedly entered the race for the Argentine international.
CalcioMercato have now asserted that Spurs have made an offer of around €55m (£46.7m) for Romero.
It is explained that the Lilywhites have let the Serie A club know that this could be their final proposal for the defender. However, it is stated that the offer ‘has not yet convinced’ Atalanta ‘to say yes’.

If Atalanta turn down this alleged offer from Spurs, I suspect the club might turn their attention to the likes of Milenkovic just to put pressure on the Bergamo club to see if they change their minds.
Atalanta know that they will likely not be able to get a fee of more than £45m for the 23-year-old in the current market and those funds can come in handy for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to pursue their targets.
