Ange Postecoglou usually travels alone, but if he is to take the Tottenham Hotspur job it is reported he may bring some of his backroom staff with him from Celtic.

After more than two months of searching, it appears Tottenham have finally found their new permanent manager.

Fresh off the back of winning an historic treble with Celtic, Postecoglou has become the clear frontrunner for the vacancy at Spurs.

Fabrizio Romano claimed a contract was almost agreed with the Australian this weekend, almost immediately after Postecoglou won the Scottish Cup final with Celtic. And, Romano has followed that up by confirming an appointment should be made ‘very soon.’

Interestingly, Postecoglou is known to be reluctant to bring coaching staff with him from role to role.

In an interview with Optus Sport previously, the 57-year-old explained he preferred to leave vacancies open and assess the options each time instead of keeping a consistent backroom staff.

Now, the latest from the Daily Record suggests Postecoglou may be set to break tradition if he takes the Tottenham Hotspur job, and will bring a few familiar faces with him from Celtic.

It is thought Postecoglou will offer “key roles” to John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan in the coaching set-up at Tottenham.

The two coaches have been working successfully alongside the Celtic boss during his time at Parkhead but could be set to make the move to North London should Postecoglou leave.

Spurs Web Opinion

Ange Postecoglou has done great things at Celtic, so it makes sense that he would want to bring a piece of that success with him.

Hopefully, he can find a nice balance of new coaches, people he has collaborated with previously, and a few Tottenham Hotspur heads, too.

Fingers crossed he can bring some of that winning mentality with him as well.
