According to Record, Ruben Amorim has told the Sporting Lisbon players that he will not be leaving the club despite interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Reports over the last 48 hours have indicated that Arne Slot has now emerged as the leading contender for the Tottenham hot seat ahead of the other candidates.
The Daily Mail even revealed on Monday morning that Slot is expected to express his intention to leave to the Feyenoord hierarchy this week, with a formal approach from Spurs expected before the end of this week.
This was also backed up by Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, with the journalist stating that the Dutchman has emerged as the ‘big favourite’ for the job, even though other names, including Amorim, are still on Tottenham’s shortlist.
If Record’s latest update is to be believed, Ruben Amorim does not expect to replace Antonio Conte at the helm at Spurs.
The publication states that the Portuguese coach has now informed his squad that he plans to remain at the Jose Alvalade Stadium next season.

This ties in with Romano’s claim that even sources close to the likes of Amorim and Luis Enqirue believe that Slot is now the favourite to become Tottenham boss.
Unless something drastic happens over the coming week, it now appears like the Dutchman is nailed on to be the next Spurs head coach.
