Leonino have claimed that Tottenham managerial target Ruben Amorim recently met with an agent to discuss a potential move to the Premier League, which is now gaining ground.
The report states that Tottenham are ‘mad’ about Amorim and believe that the Sporting Lisbon boss is of ‘the ideal profile’ to replace Antonio Conte at the helm.
The Portuguese coach is alleged to have recently met with an unnamed agent to discuss a move to England, with the talks said to have left his ‘mouth watering’ and increased the chances of him departing Jose Alvalade Stadium this summer.
The report explains that although Amorim had planned on remaining at Lisbon following his discussions with the Sporting board, the temptation of competing in the Premier League and a considerably higher salary could now sway him.
The outlet explains that the 38-year-old’s current contract at Sporting has a release clause of €20m (£17.2m), which can be activated by foreign clubs.

Among the various coaches that we have been linked with, one can argue that Amorim’s tactics would be the best fit for the current Spurs squad.
However, for the amount of talent that Sporting have in their ranks, they have underperformed considerably in the Portuguese top flight this season, which might make Tottenham think twice about a move for the 38-year-old.
