Tottenham Hotspur appear to be zoning in on Ange Postecoglou as they search for a new head coach, and Celtic are thought to be very concerned about losing their manager this summer.

After more than two months of hunting for a new permanent manager and seemingly failing to attract a suitable target, Spurs could now be close to finding the man to lead them into next season.

A string of candidates have come and gone in recent weeks, with many deciding to remain with their current clubs rather than making the jump to North London.

Ange Postecoglou has done a fine job at Celtic, having just led the club to another SPL title this year. His work has impressed many, and Tottenham are now expected to open talks with the Australian next week about the vacancy at the club (ESPN).

However, Postecoglou himself has played down the reports linking him to North London, suggesting he is firmly focused on the task at hand (BBC).

Nevertheless, it now appears Celtic are growing increasingly concerned that they are set to lose their coach to Tottenham and feel an approach is imminent.

That’s according to the latest report from 90Min, which claims Tottenham Hotspur have “carried out their due diligence” on Postecoglou, leading Celtic to regard him as the “leading candidate” for the role.

The Scottish giants expect an approach to be made after the weekend, and there are “fears” Postecoglou would accept the offer as he looks for “one last chance to manage a major side in the Premier League.”

I personally can’t see why Postecoglou would turn down the Spurs job.

He has done just about all he can at Celtic, and has a chance to really test himself, which, by the sounds of it, is the kind of motivation this man thrives on.
