Celtic appear to be preparing themselves for the chance that Tottenham Hotspur could appoint Ange Postecoglou as their new manager, and will attempt to replace him with West Ham boss David Moyes.

Tottenham‘s long and arduous search for a new manager could well be coming to an end, as Celtic head coach Postecoglou emerges as the frontrunner for the role.

According to ESPN, the 57-year-old is set for talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy next week, once the Scottish Cup final is out of the way.

Despite Postecoglou himself playing down the talk of a move to North London (BBC), sources suggest the job is his if he wants it (Football Insider).

It remains to be seen whether those talks with Daniel Levy will go ahead, or whether they will be successful or not, of course. However, the latest from 90Min claims Celtic are growing increasingly worried that they will be losing their manager imminently.

Now, a report in the Scottish Sun suggests that Celtic will turn to David Moyes if their current manager does depart for Tottenham Hotspur.

It is suggested the Scottish giants are “resigned” to losing Postecoglou, and “have already started looking for a replacement.”

As the process of “drawing up potential replacements” begins for Celtic, it is thought David Moyes would be a “likely contender” for a move to his native Scotland.

Moyes has been in charge of West Ham since 2019, and is in his second spell with the Hammers.

However, after a poor season domestically, it has been suggested the Scotsman may be axed by the club if he loses the upcoming Europa Conference League final (The Guardian).

It makes perfect sense for Moyes to go to Celtic. I feel like his time at West Ham has come to an end, and he may well see a return to Scotland as the ideal project for this stage of his career.
