A report containing information from those close to Ange Postecoglou has suggested what the Celtic boss will be looking for when he meets with Daniel Levy to discuss taking over at Spurs.
Tottenham’s search for a new permanent manager has been an arduous one so far. The club has now been without a full-time coach for more than two months.
While an array of big names have been linked to the post, many have distanced themselves from the rumours by committing to their current club.
The latest candidate to be mooted as the front-runner is Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou. The 57-year-old has told the BBC that he is keen to focus on the upcoming Scottish Cup final and is ignoring the growing speculation regarding his future.
According to ESPN, the Australian coach will meet with Tottenham Hotspur next week to explore the possibility of a move to North London.
That meeting appeared to be confirmed by Alan Nixon on his Patreon, who suggested Postecoglou will rely heavily on first impressions when making a decision about his future.
Nixon claimed Postecoglou is “pencilled in for talks with Levy on Monday,” and it is believed the dynamic between the pair will be “key” to the Celtic boss’ next move.
The report posits the idea that Postecoglou will be looking to have control over many facets of his squad when it comes to matters both on and off the pitch.
Whether Levy will allow that or not remains to be seen, and there is a chance this could be a potential “sticking point” in the negotiations.

Whoever we choose as the next manager, they simply have to be given some freedom and Levy needs to back off. This project will never work if managers are not trusted to handle their squad effectively.
