Jamie O’Hara has claimed that Ange Postecoglou would jump ship at Celtic at the first opportunity he is given to become Tottenham Hotspur’s new head coach.

The Australian has been heavily linked with the vacant managerial position in north London with Sky Sports claiming that Tottenham are expected to approach Celtic to speak to Postecoglou after he guided yesterday to a domestic treble following yesterday’s 3-1 Scottish Cup final win against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

O’Hara believes that Postecoglou would be a good appointment for Tottenham and predicted the 57-year-old could be a top class manager, despite uncertainty among pockets of the fanbase over the prospect of him succeeding Antonio Conte.

The former midfielder pointed out Tottenham’s previous appointments of serial winners in the form of Conte and Jose Mourinho which have failed to deliver success and backed Postecoglou’s style of football to win over the supporters in N17.

O’Hara feels that the lure of managing in the Premier League will prove to be too much for Postecoglou, who yesterday remained coy over his future following Celtic’s trophy success.

When quizzed on his future at Celtic yesterday, he told BBC Scotland: “Because I think I deserve to enjoy this moment just like everyone else. I worked really hard for this moment.

“I owe it to my friends and to my family. I get why you have to ask the question, but from my perspective, I deserve to enjoy this moment.

“There will be a time to come for those kinds of questions but for now, we’ve grasped a small chunk of history for ourselves and I’m not going to pass that by by being side tracked.”
