Massimo Luongo has been discussing the way Ange Postecoglou has adapted to life at Tottenham Hotspur, and insists every Australian is now a secret Spurs fan thanks to the new manager.

Of course, Massimo Luongo knows all about the experience of being an Australian in North London. The 31-year-old started his career with Tottenham back in 2011, but made just one first-team appearance for the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt).

Luongo is what you would call well-traveled, having spent time on loan with the likes of Ipswich Town and Swindon, before moving permanently through a number of clubs such as Sheffield Wednesday and Middlesbrough. He is now back at Ipswich, full-time.

Speaking of well-traveled, you could say Ange Postecoglou is something of a journeyman. The 58-year-old has found himself at Spurs after a career which has taken him from Australia, to Greece, Japan, Scotland, and now the Premier League.

And, what a job he is doing with Tottenham, too. Ange-ball has taken Spurs to the top of the league, and Postecoglou is arguably the most talked-about manager in England right now.

Everyone is a Spurs fan now thanks to Postecoglou

Speaking to The Sun about the man who gave him his Australia debut, Luongo heaped praise on Postecoglou and what he is doing at Spurs.

He said: “What Ange is doing is incredible. Every Aussie is following Tottenham now. Every Aussie is a secret Tottenham supporter.

“It is great to watch from afar. Being in this country, everyone knows he’s a genuine person. You can see that in his interviews and he’s got passion for the game, he is hungry for the success.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I have a lot of friends who support other clubs, some who even support other London clubs we shall not name, who have admitted they can’t help but love Ange Postecoglou. I think he might be the most popular man in the sport right now, and deservedly so.
