Tottenham Hotspur fans will be hoping new signing Manor Solomon can carry his good form from training into matches, after the attacker was spotted scoring plenty of goals in a recent session.
Solomon arrived at Tottenham on a free transfer earlier this month after his contract with Shakhtar Donetsk was terminated through FIFA rulings over the ongoing conflict in the Ukraine.
The Israeli forward was on loan at Fulham last season, and impressed as his impact from the bench was felt with five goals in 24 games (Transfermarkt).
It has been suggested that Solomon has been brought in to fill the gaps left by Lucas Moura and Arnaut Danjuma in the Spurs squad, and will largely be cover for the likes of Heung-min Son and Dejan Kulusevski.
However, the player himself has previously told Football.London that he is not worried about the ‘competition’ for places in the Tottenham squad. Indeed, his debut performance against West Ham on Tuesday showed plenty of promise and got fans excited.
Manor Solomon scoring goals in training
Now, a new report from Football.London has offered an insight into what’s been going on in training as Tottenham continue their pre-season preparations in Perth, Australia, and it seems Solomon is going the right way about staking a claim on a starting spot in the Spurs team.
Apparently, Solomon had “no problem in finding the back of the net” during the latest session and displayed a “whole range of different finishing with both feet.”
The report claims Solomon was “on fire” in training, and when given opportunities to score, “made no mistake at all and confidently found the back of the net.” It is thought the 24-year-old’s “ability to score” left onlooking fans impressed with what they saw.
Spurs Web Opinion
There is a chance Manor Solomon could end up being a truly fantastic signing, especially given the fact he arrived on a free transfer.
He looked really sharp against West Ham and full of confidence, so hopefully he can find the back of the net in a match soon and get some momentum going into the season.
