ABC Sevilla have revealed that it is is only a matter of time before Tottenham seal the capture of Bryan Gil, with the North Londoners expected to officially announce the Sevilla star’s capture before the end of the week.
Gil won many admirers with his impressive displays on loan at Eibar last season but the 20-year-old was not able to prevent the club from going down.
Reports emerged on Tuesday that Tottenham had agreed to pay €25m (£21.6m) plus Erik Lamela in exchange for the young starlet.
Sources from Spain have since suggested that Sevilla tried to tie Gil down to a new contract with a £130m release clause but decided to cash in on the winger as he was reluctant to sign such a deal.
ABC Sevilla have now suggested that Spurs and Sevilla have reached a complete agreement, with both clubs now said to be exchanging documents to close the transfer.
It is asserted that the deal will be publicly announced within the next few days.
Spurs Web Opinion
I am fairly confident that some Spurs fans on social media who are hyping Gil up, barely knew anything about him until we were linked with him earlier this week.
While the 20-year-old’s talent is evident, one can never be sure how young players will develop, particularly when they are thrown into a completely new league.
So, fans need to be patient with the youngster and allow him a year or two to get used to the intensity of Premier League football and to mature as a player.
