According to the print edition of Corriere dello Sport (02/06/23 as relayed by Sport Witness), Bryan Gil’s future will be defined next month as the winger is not in Tottenham’s plans moving forward.
Bryan Gil has showcased his quality since returning to Sevilla on loan in January, with the winger playing a key role in the club’s Europa League triumph.
Sevilla do not have the option to buy the 22-year-old permanently, which means that they would have to enter into negotiations with Tottenham this summer if they wish to do so.
Corriere now state that the La Liga side could face competition for Gil from Lazio, with the Serie A club having identified the Tottenham man as an option to bolster their attack ahead of their foray into the Champions League next season.
The report adds that Maurizio Sarri believes the Spain international can explode under him at the Stadio Olimpico next season, just as the likes of Felipe Andersen and Mattia Zaccagni have.
The Italian publication claims that Tottenham would be open to listening to offers for Gil since he is not in their plans and assert that his future ‘will be defined in July’.
Spurs Web Opinion
If Tottenham do put Gil up for sale, there would likely be plenty of other clubs apart from Lazio and Sevilla who express an interest in the winger, given his undoubted potential.
If Postecoglou does take the Spurs job, I can see the Australian taking a real liking to the 22-year-old, given his one vs one ability and his ability to press constantly off the ball.
