Bryan Gil has posted an Instagram story hinting that he will be back in action very soon.
Gil will have perhaps felt hard done by at his lack of opportunities under Antonio Conte and the winger, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Sevilla, would have hoped to make an impression on Ange Postecoglou during pre-season.
However, his hopes of doing so were quashed when he picked up a groin injury that sidelined him right from the start of pre-season.
According to L’Equipe, Lyon tried to sign the 22-year-old on loan during transfer deadline day but failed to do so owing to ‘financial or timing reasons’.
It remains to be seen if Gil will get opportunities at Tottenham this season, with Ange Postecoglou now having an embarrassment of riches in the wide areas, particularly after the arrival of Brennan Johnson from Nottingham Forest.
Bryan Gil says he will be back for Spurs ‘soon’
The Spain international posted on social media that he was getting ‘closer and closer’ to a return last week and he has now hinted that it is only a matter of time before he is back available.
This is what the winger has now posted:

Gil actually possesses some characteristics that Postecoglou would love. While he is not as strong as Kulusevsli, he is much more aggressive and direct than the Swede in one vs one situations. However, with Johnson also being added to the squad, it seems quite unlikely that the former Sevilla man will get game time.
