Reports in Italy have suggested that former managing director of football at Tottenham Hotspur, Fabio Paratici, will see part of his ban reduced by FIFA after an appeal (TuttoMercatoWeb).
Paratici saw his initial appeal rejected (Alasdair Gold), which prompted a swift resignation from his role in North London earlier this month.
However, the Italian’s lawyers reportedly filed a second different appeal to FIFA, which has been partially accepted, allowing Paratici to take some work within the footballing world.
Essentially, Paratici’s worldwide ban will stand, but he will still be able to take certain less important footballing roles with a reduced set of responsibilities.
The Daily Mail previously reported that Tottenham are expected to hire a new director from outside the club, rather than promoting internally.
It remains unclear whether this change in Paratici’s plan could have any impact on his association with Tottenham after he already resigned from his previous post.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I assume this is just FIFA saying that Paratici can still earn a living in the world of football as some kind of consultant, rather than holding any meaningful role with any power that could be abused.
