Ange Postecoglou paid his first visit to the Hotspur Way earlier this week and has made an impression at the club’s training base, according to Football.London.
The report reveals that Ryan Mason was one of those who were in attendance to meet with the Australian and was said to have been left impressed by the 57-year-old.
Mason is now expected to remain as part of Postecoglou’s new look backroom team in north London with the 31-year-old having been the subject of interest from other clubs following his second interim spell in charge.
Daniel Levy initially overlooked Mason for the acting head coach role in the wake of Antonio Conte’s exit from Tottenham and instead decided to place his assistant Cristian Stellini in charge.
The Italian left his temporary post with a record of two defeats, a win and a draw in charge of Spurs, with the 6-1 humiliation at Newcastle being the final straw which resulted in Levy turning to Mason for the second occasion.
Mason set to stay as part of Postecoglou’s coaching staff
With Mason reported to have been left impressed by his meeting with Postecoglou it will mean there is still a link between the old regime and the new, with the former midfielder known to command respect among the Spurs dressing room (Football.London).
The Evening Standard claimed earlier this week that Mason was set to meet with Levy to discuss his future having attracted interest from Championship clubs along with some from abroad.

Mason has excellent relationships with the likes of Harry Kane and hopefully, the presence of Mason within the coaching team will help the striker to have another reason to remain in north London despite intense speculation about his own future.
It would be a risk for Mason to jump ship at this stage and take on his own management role when there will be plenty he can absorb from Postecoglou before finally making the leap in a year or two.
