Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Chris Davies and Mile Jedinak have joined Spurs as part of Ange Postecoglou’s coaching staff while Rob Burch will also return to the club to take his place in the Australian’s backroom team.
It had already been reported that Ryan Mason was set to stay on as part of Postecoglou’s coaching staff at the new Spurs head coach’s request (Football.London).
That has now been confirmed by the club, who reveal that Mason has been appointed as assistant coach, alongside Matt Wells, who worked with the 31-year-old during his spell as the interim head coach towards the end of last season.
Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham coaching staff
Davies has extensive experience in coaching, having worked as part of the staff at Swansea City, Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City, and he now joins Spurs as the senior assistant coach.
Former Crystal Palace midfielder Jedinak, who played under Postecoglou for the Socceroos, will leave his position as a youth and loan development coach at Aston Villa to join the 57-year-old’s staff at Spurs.
Finally, Burch, who came through the youth ranks at Tottenham and served as the academy goalkeeping coach until 2019, is set to join as the first-team goalkeeping coach.
Spurs Web Opinion
While Postecoglou might have preferred to bring John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan with him for Celtic, the Australian is used to working with a new team at each of his clubs and so, doing the same at Tottenham should not be an issue for the 57-year-old.
Interestingly, there was no mention of whether set pieces coach, Gianni Vio is still part of the staff.
