Heung-Min Son is currently in stellar form for Tottenham, having scored 7 goals so far this month. Son’s recent form has been instrumental in Tottenham’s rise to the second spot in the table.
Some Spurs fans on social media thus talked in glowing terms about the attacker’s form, with a few even suggesting that Son was the best Asian player to ever feature in the Premier League.
This certainly didn’t sit well with Manchester United fans who claimed that their former star Ji-Sung Park who played over 200 games for the Manchester Club was still better than the Spurs winger.
Since then the debate has been raging on twitter between the two sets of fans as to who among the two holds the upper hand. Here’s how some fans reacted to the debate:

Scored in the Champions League quarter and semi-final, had Pirlo in his pocket, was the first Asian player to captain United and scored the winner against Liverpool. Son is quality but he needs more time before people can claim he’s better than Park 😎 https://t.co/uN7T0FTtNL

Heung Min Son- Striker: 37 goals, 16 assists in the PL. No titles.
Park Ji Sung- Midfielder- 19 goals, 21 assists. Titles: 1 UCL, 3 ELC, 4 Premier Leagues. Considering Park was a midfielder & his contribution to the team, he’s undoubtedly the best ever Asian player in the PL.

It looks unlikely that either set of fans will convince the other. While Park was certainly a more versatile player and won several major honours, Son has the edge when it comes to goals and assists.
However, one thing to consider is that Son still has his best years ahead of him and so it is only fair to wait till the Korean has hung up his boots before comparing him with his Manchester United counterpart.
