Journalist Ben Jacobs has said that Saudi Pro League sides could target several high-profile Premier League stars next summer, including Son Heung-min.
With Harry Kane having departed to Bayern Munich, Son is now undoubtedly Tottenham’s biggest superstar and arguably the new face of the club.
The 31-year-old, who is into his ninth season at the North London club, has taken over the captain’s armband from Hugo Lloris, and the Lilywhites need him to step up and fill the void left by Kane’s departure.

Son admitted back in July that he turned down the chance to move to Saudi Arabia, insisting that playing in the Premier League still remains a ‘dream’ for him (Daily Mail).
However, according to Jacobs, Saudi clubs may not have given up efforts to sign the Tottenham star and could reignite their interest in the forward next summer.
The journalist suggested that even top Premier League clubs will have to get used to sides from the Saudi Pro League coming for their best players.
Heung-min Son could be a target for Saudi clubs
He told talkSPORT: “De Bruyne is a possibility. Son is a possibility. Salah will be a possibility again if he doesn’t join in the next few days and no doubt there’ll be a few younger, surprise names.
“It will slow down in the next few windows but I think the Saudi Pro League feels like it’s here to stay but European teams are going to have to come to terms with that.”

With Saudi clubs not bound by FFP rules, there is an uneven playing ground here, which they will take advantage of in their efforts to bring top players to the country.
While the prestige of playing in Europe’s top leagues is currently ensuring that most of the best players remain in the top five leagues, that could well change as more and more stars move to Saudi Arabia.
Over the long term, there is no doubt that the Saudi top flight presents a major threat to the Premier League and other competitions.
