According to Football Italia we have joined the race to sign Atalanta midfielder Bryan Cristante, along with Roma, Juventus and Inter.

The 23-year-old has found spectacular form since joining the Orobici on loan from Portuguese Benfica and the club has already activated the €4m release clause but the article adds that nonetheless he is expected to move on at the end of the season to a bigger club.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Spurs have now set their sights on Cristante adding that the club actually had scouts at England’s friendly match with Italy in the hope that Cristante would play, but he was not bought off the substitutes’ bench.If Cristante was to arrive at Spurs, he could slot into battle for a central midfield or in anumber 10 role.

He has scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 37 competitive games for Atalanta and also received made Italy debut, with two caps to his name so far.
He is likely to fetch a fee upwards of £25m.
