TuttoMercatoWeb have revealed that Napoli have now set their sights on Giovani Lo Celso ahead of the January transfer window.
Over the last couple of weeks, multiple Spanish outlets have reported that Barcelona (Sport) and Real Betis (Fichajes) are plotting January moves for Lo Celso.
However, a couple of days ago, Estadio Deportivo revealed that they had heard from sources close to the player that he has no plans to leave the North London club.
The outlet asserted that the 27-year-old wants to fight for his place under Ange Postecoglou and is keen to succeed at Tottenham.
Napoli now enter the race for Giovani Lo Celso
The interest in Lo Celso’s services appears to be growing, with TMW claiming that Napoli are also keeping an eye on the Spurs star’s situation.
The report states that the Serie A club tried to sign the midfielder on a loan deal with an option to buy in the summer but that formula was ‘not appreciated’ by Tottenham.
It is alleged that the Italian champions are expected to try again for Lo Celso in January, with the Lilywhites thought to value the player at €15m (£13m).
Spurs Web Opinion
It remains to be seen if Lo Celso gets any minutes under his belt once he is back fit. I doubt he would get much game time, given that Brennan Johnson could also be used in the number eight role as cover for James Maddison. A January exit is very much on the cards for the Argentine.
