According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan could push ahead with a major offer to sign rumoured Tottenham target Giorgio Scalvini.

Scalvini has emerged as one of the best young talents in Italian football over the last year and multiple publications over recent months have indicated that he is on Fabio Partici’s and Antonio Conte’s radar.

CalcioMercatoWeb.it claimed last month that Fabio Paratici could look to complete a double deal for the 19-year-old and his Atalanta teammate Ruslan Malinovsky.

InterLive then reported on Tuesday that Antonio Conte is keen on adding reinforcements to his backline and identified Scalvini as one of his top targets.

The publication explained that the teenager had been on the Nerazzurri’s radar ‘for months’ but added that Spurs could push ahead with a move for the player in January.

However, if Gazzetta‘s latest update is to be believed, Inter will not give up on Scalvini without a fight.

The report states that the Serie A club are prioritising a move for the Atalanta star as the contracts of both Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij run out at the end of the season.

The publication states that Scalvini has a release clause of €40m (£34m) in his contract, which Simone Inzaghi’s men might be willing to meet.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham would likely have no problem financially outmuscling Inter in the race for Scalvini’s signature. However, the youngster might be tempted to continue his development in the Serie A rather than take the risk of moving to the Premier League at this stage of his career.
