The Daily Mail have revealed that Son Heung-min was seen refusing to hold a fan’s iPhone due to his sponsorship agreement with Samsung.
A video, which has gone viral on TikTok, shows a fan offering their iPhone to the Tottenham star so he could take a selfie of them together.
However, Son, upon realising what product she was offering for him to hold, put his hands together apologetically to state that he couldn’t take the picture.
The video then shows the new Tottenham captain being offered a phone from another fan, with the 31-year-old being happy to take a selfie on this occasion.
Heung-min Son takes his Samsung deal seriously
Given Son’s megastar status in South Korea, the video has quickly gone viral and The Mail have now explained why the forward turned down the selfie initially.
The publication states that the Spurs star became a brand ambassador for Samsung earlier this summer, with his contract with the Korean company stipulating that he cannot be seen using a rival company’s product publicly.

This is something that Son will have to be wary of given how many selfie requests he gets, particularly when he is back in his home country.
