James Maddison has revealed that he gets along really well with Son Heung-min and he could chat all day with the South Korean without getting bored.

Maddison and Son are both part of Tottenham’s new-look leadership group, with the forward being handed the captain’s armband and the attacking midfielder appointed as one of his two deputies.

A bromance is brewing between the two players, who have already done each other’s celebrations over the last few weeks.

Son was extremely complimentary of the England international in an interview with The Guardian a couple of weeks ago, admitting that playing with the 26-year-old is a ‘joy’.

The forward also remarked that Tottenham had been crying out for a creative midfielder such as the former Leicester City man for a long time.

James Maddison loves spending time with Sonny

It is now Maddison’s turn to shower praise on Son, admitting that the 31-year-old has taken to the leadership role really well.

Maddison told Spurs Play: “Sonny is a great lad. Such a welcoming, feel-good person that you could sit with for hours and chat and chat and chat, especially now that he has been given the captaincy, he has taken on the leadership role and I feel like he is really good at it.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I do not think there is a single Spurs player or opposition player who has ever had a bad word to say about Sonny. Like the South Korean, Maddison also seems like a happy-go-lucky type of character, which is why it is not surprising that they get along so well with each other.
