Tottenham Hotspur look set to bolster their goalkeeping ranks with Fraser Forster expected to undergo a medical, according to The Telegraph.
The England international is out of contract with Southampton next month and was not included in the Saints match day squad for their final Premier League match of the season against Leicester City on Sunday.
Tottenham had been heavily linked with West Bromwich Albion’s Sam Johnstone, who is also set to become a free agent in the summer with The Mirror claiming earlier this month that the north Londoners were set to win the race for his signature.
Pierluigi Gollini has acted as Hugo Lloris’ understudy this season, however, the Italian is not expected to be signed on a permanent deal and will return to Serie A outfit Atalanta (Football Insider).
During his time at Southampton, Forster made 161 appearances in all competitions, keeping 55 clean sheets (transfermarkt).

A move for Forster over Gollini makes perfect sense considering the Italian is taking up a precious non-homegrown space in the Spurs squad which would be put to better use with the recruitment of an outfield player.
