CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has revealed that Tottenham are the only Premier League club that Qatar Sports Investments have entered into talks with regarding a potential minority investment.

The Athletic revealed on Tuesday that talks between QSI and Spurs are still ongoing, with the report stating 15 per cent of the North London club was on the table in Daniel Levy’s latest discussions with QSI chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Jones has now stated that talks between Levy and Al-Khelaifi ‘remain active’ regarding a minority stake but the journalist adds that ‘there is no fixed percentage’ being discussed, with QSI said to be looking at minority investment ‘at all scales’.

He asserts that Spurs may even be open to discussing a higher percentage with other groups, although the Lilywhites hierarchy has denied that they are in ongoing talks with any consortium.

Jones reveals that QSI have only held talks with Spurs for the moment but they have an ‘open mind’ regarding Manchester United and are keeping an eye on the developments at Old Trafford.

However, it is asserted that the consortium does not hold any concrete interest in buying minority stakes in Liverpool.

It seems like QSI have identified Spurs as the ideal vehicle to invest in, given the infrastructure in place and the club’s potential, in addition with the lower value compared to Man Utd and Liverpool.

However, the reason I am a little sceptical about whether the deal would go through is that it seems like Levy’s and ENIC’s long-term game plan has always been a full sale, the prospect of which might be hindered by handing over 15 per cent to 25 per cent to QSI.
