While on international duty with South Korea, Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son has revealed he hopes his former teammate, Harry Kane, can succeed with Bayern Munich, and discussed the impact of his sale this summer.
Tottenham lost their all-time leading goalscorer (GOAL) this summer when Harry Kane departed his boyhood club to join Bayern Munich.
After a protracted transfer saga that lasted almost the entire summer, Spurs eventually accepted an offer worth an initial £86m, which could rise to around £100m with add-ons (Sky Sports), for their star man.
The England captain made the decision to leave the Lilywhites in search of silverware. So far, it has been a good start for Kane in Germany, too, with three goals and an assist in his first four games for his new club (Transfermarkt).
Spurs appear to have coped fairly well without their talismanic striker, too, however. Under Ange Postecoglou, the North London club have enjoyed an unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign, and currently sit in second place in the league.
Son wishes Kane all the success in Germany
Heung-min Son is now the main man at Spurs, having taken the captain’s armband at the club. Speaking at a press conference (via Football Daily), the attacker had plenty to say about his former teammate and the gap he has left behind.
He said: “He is one of the best players in the world, so when you have Harry Kane on your team, you have 20-30 goals in your pocket, guaranteed.
“I think the players have realised we have to take big steps forward, to move the club forward, everyone has to take big responsibility. Everyone has to step up to get those 30 goals together.
“When you see the first four games, I think the team is showing on the pitch what qualities they have. It makes my captain role so easy, because we have an amazing group of players and human beings. We are looking to keep going.”
On Kane, Son added: “Harry obviously moved in a good way. We have to respect that, from the club side and from the player’s side. We wish him the best, and I hope he can win everything that he deserves. I’m sure he also wishes us the best, too.”

Spurs Web Opinion
It is a testament to players like Sonny and the rest of the squad for the way we appear to have coped with the loss of a player like Harry Kane.
I don’t think anyone, myself included, thought things would be so positive in the wake of his departure, but this new era has gotten off to a great start, and now the players need to keep up that momentum.
