Peter Crouch has said that he is encouraged by the fact that no one at Tottenham Hotspur is currently talking about the loss of Harry Kane.
The entirety of the summer was dominated by speculation around Kane’s future and questions about how the Lilywhites could cope with the loss of their record goalscorer.
In fact, some pundits even suggested that Tottenham would struggle to finish in the top four after losing the 30-year-old to Bayern Munich (Sky Sports).
To many people’s surprise, Spurs now look a much better team than they were last season, and have had no issues finding the back of the net so far.
The team spirit in the camp also seems to be high and the morale would have only improved even more on the back of the dramatic fashion in which they beat Sheffield United on Saturday.
Peter Crouch is impressed by lack of Harry Kane talk
Crouch has pointed out that almost no one at Tottenham seems to be hung up on Kane’s exit, with the players and the fans having quickly moved on.
In an interview on 90 min’s YouTube channel, the host said about Maddison: “He has taken that 10 shirt from Harry Kane and it looks like he’s kind of made for it really, it looks like he loves the responsibility.
The former Tottenham striker responded: “Yeah, exactly right and the thing is what is so good about Spurs at the moment is that nobody is really talking about Harry Kane really.”
Spurs Web Opinion
There is no doubt that Tottenham’s attacking players are now taking more responsibility since they cannot rely on Kane to bail them out. The leadership vacuum left by the departure of the 30-year-old (and Lloris’ demotion) has evidently been filled by the likes of Maddison and Romero.
