Corriere dello Sport have revealed that Aston Villa are ready to present an offer to sign AS Roma centre-back Roger Ibanez, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur over recent weeks.
All through June, multiple Italian publications named Tottenham as the front-runner to snap up Ibanez.
In fact, Romagiallorossa.it even claimed a couple of weeks ago that Roma sporting director Tiago Pinto had met with the Tottenham hierarchy to speak about the Brazilian.
Meanwhile, Leggo (26/06/23 via Corriere Giallorosso) suggested that Ben Davies could be used by Spurs in a swap deal to sign the 24-year-old

If Corriere dello Sport’s latest update is to be believed, Spurs now have a competition to contend with from Aston Villa for Ibanez.
The publication explains that Jose Mourinho’s men have to sell players before making moves to sign new ones, and have decided to cash in on the Brazil international, having already secured Evan Ndicka to bolster their backline.
It is revealed that Roma would not consider offers below the €25m-€30m (£21.4m-£25.7m) mark and the report states that such a fee would be well within the reach of the Villans.
In fact, Corriere dello Sport add that Unai Emery’s side are ready to present an offer for Ibanez in ‘the next few hours’.

£20m-£25m is not a particularly high price, which is why Tottenham would have likely wrapped up a deal for Ibanez if he was anywhere near the top of Postecoglou’s wishlist.
For the moment, it appears as if Spurs are concentrating on the likes of Tapsoba, Van de Ven and Adarabioyo.
