The Daily Mail have revealed that Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Douglas Luiz as a replacement for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
With Hojbjerg’s future continuing to be the source of much speculation, several publications have suggested recently that Spurs are on the lookout for a replacement for the Dane.
Last week, we relayed an update from The Telegraph, which claimed that Spurs are considering making a move for Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher if the former Southampton man leaves.
Douglas Luiz emerges as a Tottenham target
The Mail have now backed up Tottenham’s interest in Gallagher but they add that the North London club have also identified Luiz as a potential replacement for Hojbjerg.
The publication states that it is unclear whether Unai Emery would be open to cashing in on the Brazil international, who was a regular in his starting eleven last season.
The 25-year-old has three years left to run on his contract at Villa Park but the report does not specify what fee the Midlands club would expect for the player.
This is not the first time Luiz has been linked with a move to Spurs, with the Lilywhites thought to have explored a move for the midfielder during January of last year (The Mail).

Among Luiz and Gallagher, the latter would be a much more lucrative option for Spurs, given that he is younger and homegrown.
However, it remains to be seen if Chelsea would be willing to sell the 23-year-old as Pochettino might fancy his chances of getting the best out of the youngster.
