Tottenham slumped to their third straight defeat on Tuesday evening, failing to hold on to a lead against Inter Milan in the Champions League, despite leading on the 85th minute.
This followed defeats against Watford, where Spurs also led late on, and Liverpool in the Premier League.
Going into their away game against Brighton today, Tottenham sit sixth in the Premier League, a full six points behind the leaders Liverpool and Chelsea.
Spurs and Pochettino will have a point to prove today, and will be determined to get a convincing win to silence their critics.
With the likes of Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, and Lucas Moura in the side, Spurs undoubtedly have the quality to win today.
Dele Alli is also expected to return after a week or two out through injury. Injured captain Hugo Lloris remains out.
Former Spur, Gus Poyet believes that Tottenham have the quality to turn things around after their dismal run of form: “The quality is there, it’s the same squad as last year. But that word that we use a lot in football, confidence, at the moment it’s really down.
“When the confidence is down you need something to happen. You need something special from the top players to change this situation very quickly.
“Everyone was expecting Tottenham to get a few players. It was a shock to many of the fans, the players and probably the staff as well. So it was very important for Spurs to start well to finish that situation of not bringing in any players. But it’s the opposite.
“It’s the first time that Mauricio has lost three games in a row and that brings something into the players. They need to perform.
“They need to go down there today and show that they are a very good team, because they are still a very good team and I think they will turn things around.”
