The Irish Independent have revealed that Evan Ferguson is set to snub the likes of Tottenham and Man United in favour of signing a new contract with Brighton.
Ferguson has won many admirers since breaking into the Brighton first team and the teenager looks destined to reach the very top of the game.
The 18-year-old is very much a modern-day centre-forward who is capable of holding the ball up and dropping deep to get involved in the build-up while also knowing where the back of the net is, as demonstrated by his eight goals times for the Seagulls in 19 appearances this season (Transfermarkt).
The Sun reported back in February that Spurs are keen on snapping up Ferguson as the North London club believe the striker can follow in Harry Kane’s footsteps.
The Irish Independent have revealed in their latest update that the youngster is on the radars of Spurs, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, the publication claims that Ferguson is set to reject the advances from the aforementioned clubs and commit himself to a long-term deal at the Amex Stadium.
It is asserted that the Republic of Ireland international is in ‘advanced talks’ over putting pen to paper on a four-year deal with Brighton.
Spurs Web Opinion
I am certainly not surprised that Ferguson has decided to sign a new deal with Brighton.
Given that the youngster was getting regular minutes under his belt at the Amex, he probably would not have wanted to risk a big move at this stage of his career, which might have seen his game time dry up.
